For Parents and Students
Please read the information on this poster regarding bell times, rules and responsibilities.
New Rewards System for Students
This has replaced the Vivo System, which we used for two years. We have reverted to an in school system, as Vivo was becoming too expensive and students were not really using the on line shop to any great extent. The awards are now called TEC TICs (TICs for short) and are awarded in the same categories as before:-
- Excellent Achievement in Class - For work of exceptional quality
- Excellent Effort in Class - For consistently working hard/showing initiative
- Outstanding Homework - For homework containing additional input/further research
- Demonstrating outstanding role model skills - Any instance where the student sets a good example to others.
- Excellent Community Contribution - Voluntary contribution in the school or community
- Representing the School or House - Any activity where the student is chosen to represent the School or House.
In addition 3 TICs will be awarded to all students who achieve 100% attendance. Any Tutor group which achieves 100% attendance from all students, will receive an extra 2TICs each.
At the end of each term, students will be awarded for sustained work in each class throughout the term. These will be Head of Faculty TICs and Head of House TICs.
Unfortunately, at present, Parents cannot see these awards online. Students should keep a record of their awards in planners weekly for Parents to see.
We have yet to decide how these TICs can be rewarded
New Cashless Catering System
From November 8th 2012, the school canteen will be operating a cashless system for all food served during the day, based on thumbprint ID (or PIN if you prefer). Money is deposited into an account and is debited when students collect their meal. It is important that all parents/guardians complete the form to signify preferences.

The term dates for future years can be seen on the Staffordshire Website. Click here to visit the relevant page
All meetings, information and events will be notified to all parents by letter, at the appropriate time. If you would like these letters to be e-mailed to you please mail Mike Armstrong (firstname.lastname@example.org), with your child's name and year and you will be added to the mailing list. If you are already on the list, there is no need to resubmit, but it would help me greatly if you let me know when a sibling is joining us, so I can update the records and ensure all Year specific mail gets to you.
The new school uniform will be worn by all students from the start of the new school year in September 2014. As most parents are aware we are changing from the blue t shirt to a traditional shirt and tie, a change which was suggested and endorsed by students, staff and parents. See the Head's Letter.
Uniform Guidelines can be seen here . These will be updated shortly to ensure the information is fully correct
The School was inspected on 17 to 18th June 2014. The report can be downloaded here .

The new prospectus for 2014-2015 can be downloaded here .
Note the very latest electronic prospectus, can be seen on the front page.
We know a large number of letters sent via students do not reach home! How many times have you found a letter in the bottom of your child's bag?
Send Mike Armstrong your email address (email@example.com), including your child's name and year group, and all school letters will be sent to you electronically. Those of you who have already joined this service need only contact Mike if you have changed your address. Of course letters will still be sent out via the students as usual. Copies of all important letters will also be available here, please see the attachments below
Images of Students
We want the new website to be full of photographs of students learning and participating in the many trips and activities we run. However we do understand that some parents do not wish their child's image to appear on the website, for a variety of reasons.
Should you not wish your child's image to appear please mail me, Mike Armstrong, (address above) and I will compile a list for all staff. It will still be the responsibility of the student to tell the photographer if they do not wish to be included on any web images. I can assure you that this question is asked whenever a photograph is taken for use on this website.
